Priyanka Chopra Explains Why She Removed 'Jonas' From Her Social Media Accounts

Priyanka Chopra revealed that she is 'protecting' herself more as a result of the public attention in her wedding to Nick Jonas and that she is 'setting limits.'

Priyanka Chopra, 39, sparked rumors in November when she removed her husband Nick Jonas' surname from her social media pages. Fans quickly assumed that the Quantico actress and Jonas Brothers singer, 29, were divorcing — but it turns out she had quite different motives for reverting to @PriyankaChopra.

It turns out that the move was motivated more by her desire to focus on her job and keep her private life more private than ever before. “I’m starting to protect myself a lot more because I realize how much [the entertainment business] takes out of you,” The Matrix Resurrections star also said to the publication. “It takes a part of your soul, constantly trying to make sure that you say the right thing, do the right thing, dress the right way, not make a mistake, not trip because the whole world is going to watch. Or not fall when you’re waking up on a red carpet or say something wrong or have a bad f—— day.”
